2018-19 BCSD budget approved

Voters have approved a $98.8 million Bethlehem Central School District budget for school fiscal year 2018-19 by a margin of 1,970 to 452, or approximately 81 percent in favor to 19 percent opposed.

In addition, a bus purchase proposition, totaling approximately $1.2 million, passed by a vote of 1,808 to 581 or 76 percent in favor to 24 percent opposed. 

Voters were asked to elect two candidates to serve on the Bethlehem Central Board of Education. Only one candidate appeared on the ballot:

  • Christian Myer has received 1,805 votes. The preliminary results show Mr. Myer wins a seat on the Board of Education.
  • There are approximately 1,363 write-in votes. Write-in votes, including those on the absentee ballots, will be tabulated on Wednesday, May 16 to determine the write-in winner.

“Thank you to the BC community for its continued support of our schools,” said Superintendent Jody Monroe. “There were numerous write-in votes and each ballot will be reviewed closely to determine our Board members-elect.”
