Board of Education
2014 Board of Education Election
There will be three Board of Education seats on the ballot in the 2014 election, which will take place on the date of the budget vote, May 20, 2014.
Members of the Board of Education are elected by the voters of the district to establish policy and direct the administration of our schools.
Individuals are eligible for election to the Board if they are qualified voters of the district (district resident, U.S. citizen, 18 and older) and can read and write. New York State Education Law does not limit the number of terms of office a member may serve.
Board members serve volunteer, three-year terms. They receive no salary or other compensation.
This year's filing deadline for petitions nominating candidates for the Bethlehem Central Board of Education is 5 p.m. on April 21, 2014. Nominating petitions must include signatures of 77 qualified voters who reside in the district. Petitions can be picked up beginning March 3, 2014 from the District Clerk, Brittany Barrett. Ms. Barett's office is located in the Educational Services Center at Bethlehem Central High School, 700 Delaware Avenue, Delmar. Petitions must be picked up in person.
