Dear Families,

What a wonderful Field Day we had today! The weather was perfect for our adventure in the Rainforest. Many thanks to everyone who made this possible: Mrs. Nolan and Ms. Crawford who coordinated the entire day, Mrs. Quirk for organizing parent volunteers, all of our parent volunteers, and all of our staff who took on all kinds of creative tasks. We’ll be posting photos on our website soon!

This summer, due to the abatement work, our school will not be accessible for any programs. As a result, the 1000 Book Program will be on hold until next school year. Thank you for your understanding.

Report cards will be posted on BC@Home on June 30. Teacher assignment information will be available starting in late August. Students moving into fifth grade will find out their math placement in September since we need to wait for NYS testing results so we can use that information as one piece of our placement decision making.

The school district is changing to a new student management system called Aspen this summer. In August, you will be receiving information about how to access the new parent portal which will replace BC@Home. For now, consider printing out or saving to your computer any old report cards or other documents from BC@Home which you would like to save.

Next week we have our 5th Grade Moving Up Ceremony followed by the picnic on Tuesday beginning at 10:00am. Our final day of school is Wednesday, June 25 with a dismissal time of 12:10. We will be having our annual end-of-year slideshow that day during school and celebrating Project Playground’s efforts. Also, the school picture people LifeTouch have provided us with a bike to raffle off since so many of our families participated in spring pictures. We’ll be drawing the lucky winner’s name during the assembly on Wednesday.

Enjoy the beautiful weather!

Sincerely,
Laura Heffernan
