An important message for BCMS parents about reading and math assessments
We all know how important reading and math are to our child’s growth as a student and learner. Successfully learning to read and having a solid understanding of math are probably the most important factors in a student’s success, both inside and outside of school. State Report Card: BC well above state average in all areas
BC schools continue to make Adequate Yearly Progress across the board
The state Education Department each spring releases a School Report Card on every school and district in the state, based on data from the previous school year.
The Bethlehem Central School District continues to meet Adequate Yearly Progress in all areas and with all subgroups. Student performance in English Language Arts, Mathematics and Science are also well above the state average at all levels and in all subgroups. Bethlehem students were administered 3,345 Regents Exams in ’11-’12, with more than 98 percent of students achieving a passing score.
That year, 60 percent of our graduates walked off the stage with a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation.
