Congratulations to BC Seniors Kathryn Sancilio and Ryan Murray who were honored at the Suburban Council Excellence in Leadership Awards dinner held at the Troy Hilton Garden Inn on Monday, June 12.

The honor goes to a male and female senior student-athlete from each Suburban Council school who excels on the field, in the classroom and, even more importantly, as a student leader. Both of these students are the epitome of what a true interscholastic student-athlete is.

Kathryn Sancilio

Sancilio is a multi-sport athlete in Girls Swim & Girls Lacrosse served as captain on both squads this year.  She is a three-time state qualifier in swim as well as a BCHS Girls Lacrosse All-American and 1st team Suburban Council All-Star.  Sancilio has received an athletic scholarship to play D1 Lacrosse at the University at Albany where she will attend in the Fall.

Ryan Murray

Murray is also a multi-sport athlete in Boys Volleyball, Boys Basketball and served as one of our Unified Basketball student coaches. Like Sancilio, Murray served both his teams as captain. He was a Suburban Council Boys Volleyball All-Star as well as a Blue Division Exceptional Senior Basketball All-Star. Murray’s leadership led BC to its first Section 2 Boys Basketball Championship since 1972.  Ryan will be attending Marist College in the fall where he will study Business.
