Bethlehem Central High School students have continued an impressive record of participation in honor ensembles of the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA). The following five BCHS students were All-State musicians at the NYSSMA Winter Conference, which was held December 1-4 in Rochester:

  • Jennie Tang, violin in the Symphony Orchestra
  • Ryan Vis, viola in the String Orchestra
  • Eric Chang, percussion in the Wind Ensemble
  • Jingxuan Liu, flute in the Wind Ensemble
  • Matthew Fox, tenor saxophone in the Symphonic Band

“The selection process was very competitive, and our honorees are representative of the finest student musicians statewide,” said District Music Department Supervisor Dave Norman. “We are proud of these musicians for their initiative, hard work and achievement.”

The trip to Rochester for the Bethlehem student musicians culminated in performances at the renowned Eastman Theatre.
