With its second place finish at the New York State Odyssey of the Mind competition, a team of middle school students from the Bethlehem Central School District has qualified to move onto the Odyssey World Finals to be held this year at Michigan State University. The team includes students Tyler Novak, Charles Blanchard, Lilian Beiter, Claire Peretta and Fiona Castle. The team is coached by parent Leslie Perrin.
Two other Bethlehem teams also competed at the state competition held Saturday, April 8 in Binghamton. A team from the high school which included students Bridget Connolly, Gillian Roeder, Taylor Roddy, Faith Adamczyck, Morgan Leonard, Megan Fallon and Aidan McNay finished in 5th place in their category. An elementary team from Hamagrael finished 14th. The team included Miriam Nester, Riley O’Meara, Levi Loe-Alinger and Kiera Murphy.
All three teams had qualified for the state tournament with top performances at the regional Odyssey of the Mind competition held earlier this year. Congratulations to all the teams and good luck the BCMS Odyssey squad as they look forward to the World Finals in May.
