The committee, which includes administrators, faculty and staff, parents, and representatives from the Board of Education, began its work in September 2017 and is expected to complete a five-year strategic plan for the district in early 2019. The group hosted a Community Forum in October and questions for the community survey were developed by the committee using feedback from the forum.

The 11-question survey – which is available as an online survey or in paper format — is open to all residents of the school district. The district will collect community survey responses from December 6 through December 22. A similar survey is being shared with faculty and staff. Students in grades 6-12 will be given an opportunity to complete the survey in school prior to the holiday break.

Community members, parents and staff can complete the anonymous survey online at the link below or download a paper copy of the survey and return it by mail. Completed paper surveys should be mailed to: Bethlehem Central School District, 700 Delaware Ave., Delmar, NY 12054. Paper surveys can also be found at nearby locations including the Bethlehem Area YMCA, Bethlehem Public Library, and Bethlehem Town Hall.

According to District Superintendent Jody Monroe, the BCSD Strategic Planning Survey is an important step in the strategic planning process..

“There was great discussion and a good turnout at our Community Forum in October from a wide cross-section of our stakeholders” said Superintendent Monroe. “Our goal is to reach even more district residents with this quick, anonymous survey that can be completed conveniently at home.”

Monroe said survey results will be reviewed by the committee in January and will be released publicly in February.
