BOE recognizes top winter athletes

On Wednesday, May 2, student athletes who competed in winter sports and had qualified for state-level competition were honored by the Bethlehem Central Board of Education. These athletes and the following winter athletic programs also received Scholar-Athlete status from New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA):

Women’s Bowling

Qualifiers for NYSPHSAA states:

Boy’s Swim and Dive

Team was ranked 5th in the State

  • Joey Chiarella: State meet participant in the 200 Free (10th in the state), 100 Fly, 200 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay
  • John Janeski: State Meet Participant in the 200 Medley Relay
  • Max Kaback: State Meet Participant in the 200 Medley Relay, 400 Free Relay
  • Colin Leonard: State Meet Participant in the 200 Medley Relay
  • John Moloney: State Meet Participant in the 200 Free relay, 400 Free Relay
  • Jason Wu: State Meet Participant in the 200 Medley Relay, 200 Free Relay
  • Brendan Cartwright: Section Champ in 100, State meet participant in 200 Free (6th in state), 100 Free (4th in state), 200 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay

Varsity Gymnastics

  • Alison Gray: Qualified for Vault and alternate on Floor and Bars

Indoor Track and Field

  • Riley Grossman: Sectional Champ in the 3200 Meter Run and 4×800: Represented BC at the state meet, Sectional Champions in the 4×800 Meter Relay, ginished 4th in the State in the 4×800 Meter Relay
  • Nan Xie: Represented BC at the state meet in the 55M Dash and 300M Dash
  • Matt Cavaliere: Represented BC at the state meet in the 1600 and 4×800 Meter relay, finished 4th in the State in the 4×800 Meter Relay
  • Cameron Davis: Sectional Champions in the 4×800 Meter Relay
  • Henry Manley: Sectional Champions in the 4×800 Meter Relay
  • Kyle Culley: Represented BC at the state meet in the 4×800 meter relay, Sectional Champions in the 4×800 Meter Relay, finished 4th in the State in the  4×800 Meter Relay
  • Jack Huber: Represented BC at the State meet in the 1000 and 4×800 Meter relay, finished 4th in the State in the 4×800 Meter Relay
  • Andrew Stein: Won the weight throw at  Sectionals and Represented BC at the state meet in the Weight Throw.
