Video: BC Barkery wraps up a successful year

What makes the perfect treat for your four-legged friend? If you are a student or staff member at Bethlehem Central High School, you know that the most popular dog treats in town are made right at the high school.

The dog-tested and owner-approved hand-made dog treats are freshly baked onsite by students who run their own small business known as the BC Barkery.  The BC Barkery was established in 2019-20 to create opportunities for students to develop business skills and provide inclusive volunteering.  The business just finished a successful year and students and staff who have been instrumental in its success stopped by the most recent Board of Education meeting to share a video about the program.

You can watch the BC Barkery video below:

The Barkery is part of the RISE (Reaching for Independence, and Employment) program at the high school. RISE students learn about purchasing ingredients, mixing, baking, quality control, labeling, weighing, delivery, counting cash from sales and making deposits.

Profits from the sale of the BC Barkery dog treats are donated on an annual basis to organizations that promote compassionate care and assistance for animals.

Many thanks to the students and staff members who have made the BC Barkery such a success!
