Photo Gallery - District welcomes Chinese delegation
Bethlehem had some special guests in attendance at
its varsity boys basketball game versus Shenendehowa last week:
a delegation of 29 students and eight administrators from Tianjin High
School 41 in China.
The delegation is being hosted by Tech Valley High,
Capital Region BOCES and Questar III BOCES and is on a week-long visit
to schools in the Capital Region. Tianjin 41 is considered one of the
premier schools in China. Last year, TVHS entered into a partnership
with the school through which it hosts teachers.
At the game, Superintendent Dr. Thomas Douglas,
along with BCHS Assistant Principal Scott Landry and Dean Marna Meltzer,
presented the delegation with BCHS tee shirts, pins and stickers.
“We thank the members of Tianjin 41 for choosing to
visit us during their brief stay,” said Superintendent Douglas. “It is a
mission of the Bethlehem Central School District to provide access for
our students to a global classroom and prepare them for international
opportunities. Their visit with us here tonight reminds us of how
important that mission is.”
