Glenmont students enjoyed a visit from members of the Selkirk Fire Department during Fire Safety Week this past Thursday. Firefighter Doug VanAppledorn first showed the students a movie starring Sparky the Fire Dog and shared ways to prevent fires, such as by not playing with matches or candles. Several firefighters then modeled for the students the extensive equipment they wear. The highlight of the day, however, was when the children went outside to see a fire truck up close. Many thanks to our wonderful volunteer fire fighters for sharing their time and expertise with us!
