BCHS Handbook for Students and Parents
The district believes strongly that one of the major factors driving student success is a strong partnership between home and school. In 2011-12 the district will continue to use the BC@Home system, a web-based tool designed to foster communication between teachers, parents and students. The system, which is known generally as a “parent portal” offers parents and students anytime online access to a secure site with personalized information about a student’s academic program and progress. Parents will continue to access all 5-week reports and quarterly report cards through the BC@Home system. They will not be mailed home as they had been in the past. Also, instead of mailing course schedules and bus schedules to students prior to the start of school, they are posted on BC@Home. Course schedules will be available on BC@Home on August 26, and bus schedules by September 1. Parents and students are encouraged to find out if their teachers use BC@Home to post course materials.
Parents and students who have already used BC@Home — including students who are entering BCHS from the Middle School — will continue to access it the same way this year. The main log-in page for the system is https://portal.bcsd.neric.org/. This page includes links if you have either forgotten your password or need to register for BC@Home. If you do not have the information required to register, please call the High School main office at 439-4921.
