Our BC Technology Department has been hard at work on the 2017-18 rollout of our Power of One Chromebook initiative, which will provide a Chromebook to every student in grades 3-12 to enhance personalized learning.

Only the high school will be using a “take-home” model where students will use the devices while at school and will be able to bring them home every day. Every BCHS student will receive a Chromebook at no cost.

Distribution of Chromebooks to high school students will take place in the BCHS Library Media Center (LMC) on the following dates:

      • Senior Day (before/after the Senior College Planning Meeting at 12 noon) –
        Thursday, Aug 24, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
      • Open pick up (Grades 10-12) – Thursday, Aug 24, 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
      • Open pick up (Grades 10-12) – Friday, Aug 25, 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
      • Open pick up (Grades 10-12) – Saturday, Aug 26, 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
      • Open pick up (Grades 10-12) – Wednesday, Aug 30, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

      • Open pick up (Grades 10-12) – Wednesday, Sept 6, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

If you have any questions regarding the pick-up schedule, please email Director of Technology Ray Nardelli at rnardelli@bcsd.neric.org.

All forms and the Power of One Chromebook handbook will be released to students and parents on August 10, 2017. These forms will include the District’s One-to-One Program Guidelines, which must be signed by a parent/guardian and is the ticket students will need to pick up the Chromebook device. This important document and all other information related to Chromebook distribution and use will be available to view and download on Aspen after August 10. The information will also be posted to the district website on that date, emailed via School News Notifier (SNN), and will be mailed to all high school families.
