Math Regents Exam Scores

The results of the Common Core Algebra exam and the Integrated Algebra exam will be provided on BC@Home when the final report cards of the year are issued. Please keep in mind that for this year only, while you will receive the results of both exams, only the higher of the two scores will count for grading and transcript purposes. 65 students honored at year's final Character Breakfast

Sixty-five BCMS students were honored Wednesday, May 21, at the school’s final Character Awards Breakfast of the 2013-14 school year. The group was treated to a breakfast by the PTO and students were presented with certificates for their exemplary behavior in school. READ MORE AND VIEW PHOTOS

Dani Moz visits BCMS, takes part in Character Strengths survey

Bethlehem alumnae and The Voice contestant Dani Moz made a return visit to the middle school this week where she spent time with students from each grade who were attending Homebase. There, she discussed her experiences on the reality show and in pursuing a career in music, and shared results of the "Character Strenghths" survey Mr. Klugman had asked her to fill out ahead of time. Eighth grade students explore world of nanoscience

On May 15, a group of BCMS students visited the College of NanoScale Science and Engineering (CNSE) in Albany as part of the college's NanoCareer Day. The participants were all eighth grade girls who have an interest in studying science and engineering. The 28 students who attended have all signed up to take the Introduction to Engineering Design next year at BCHS. During their visit to CNSE, they learned about opportunities for studying and working in nanotech fields. They also found out about current innovations in nanotechnology that are taking place here in the Capital Region. VIEW PHOTOS

History teams find success at national tournament

Several Bethlehem students traveled to Washington DC last weekend to compete in the 2014 National History Bee & Bowl. A total of 15 students, nine from the high school and six from the middle school, tested their skills against other top history and geography students from 216 public and private schools from across the United States. Eagles and vultures and hawks, oh my!

Seventh graders at BCMS got an up-close look at more than a dozen birds of prey as The Raptor Project, and "The American Birdman" Jonathan Wood, returned to the school on May 7 with a collection of owls, eagles, falcons, hawks and more. The Raptor Project provides the students, who study life sciences as part of the seventh grade curriculum, with a memorable lesson on wildlife. READ MORE & VIEW PHOTOS

Four students from BCMS placed in the state-wide New York State History Day competition by submitting their history projects to be evaluated by professional historians and educators. READ MORE

Selection/Classification info for student athletes

A meeting was held April 29 at BCMS to discuss New York state's Selection/Classification program. Selective classification is a process created by the State Education Department for screening students to determine their readiness to compete in interscholastic athletic competition by evaluating their physical maturity, fitness and skill.
