Lab School Informational Session on Jan. 7
At 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2014, in the BCMS auditorium there will an informational meeting held for all parents/guardians of eighth grade students interested in the Lab School at BCHS.
On this evening, Lab School teachers, students and parents will be making a presentation followed by a question/answer period. Students are also welcome and encouraged to attend this evening meeting. If you are unable to attend this presentation, a smaller group of Lab School representatives will be available Tuesday, January 14 at the Transition Night for 8th grade parents/guardians to be held in the high school auditorium.

We are now accepting orders for the 2013-2014 Middle School Yearbook. Yearbooks are $22 and you can order them online at https://YBPay.lifetouch.com with Yearbook ID Code: 8364514 or you may fill out the attached form [PDF] and have your child return the form along with a check or money order to their homeroom teacher. Orders are being accepted until March 7, 2014. Additional forms are available in both house offices, the main office and BC@Home.
Character Education Breakfast celebrates student role models
Forty-nine BCMS students were honored Wednesday morning, November 6, at the school’s quarterly Character Awards Breakfast. The award recognizes students who display good character on a consistent basis throughout the marking period. BCMS teacher inspiring student action on global issues
All 6th grade classes are currently engaged in a
Social Studies learning unit called the "Haves and Have-Nots"
project. Elaine Houston of Channel 13 news stopped in to interview
some of Bill Reilly's 4th period class to test their knowledge, to
interview them about Patroon 6-1's Global Coalition project that
connects them with children in other countries around our planet,
and to ask Mr. Reilly about his upcoming trip to Uganda this summer to train
teachers, along with his efforts to raise money
for school supplies.

Ms. McCabe named Outstanding Teacher of American History
They are the Daughters of the American Revolution, also known as DAR. She is the daughter of the American History teacher. Two, actually. And now, Megan McCabe -- a seventh grade social studies teacher at BCMS -- has been named Outstanding Teacher of American History by the New York State chapter of DAR, the non-profit women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism and preserving American history. BCMS students awarded for bravery, creativity, kindness
Three times this school year, as part of BCMS’ Positive Recognition Program, middle school students will be recognized for their outstanding feats of character. On October 16, the first of these three Character Strength Lunches was held in the BCMS PIT celebrating 42 students who exemplified the strengths of bravery, creativity and kindness. READ MORE »
