Physical Education Student Leader AwardNYS Student Leadership Award

Congratulations to the following students who received the NYS Association for Health, Physical Education, and Recreation Student Leadership Award - Nick DiNapoli, Jessica Klein, Adrienne Knoth, Meghan McFerran, Lauren Nardacci, Genevieve Paeglow, Jamie Rosen, Bobby Trosset, Sidney Vanderbilt, Matt VanWie, and Mujtaba Warsi. These students were recognized at a ceremony at Hudson Valley Community College.

Food Services announces availability of new online payment system

The district is pleased to announce the availability of a convenient, easy and secure online pre-payment service to deposit money into your child's school meal account at any time. This service also provides parents the ability to view your child's account balance through a Web site called Read more  


National French Contest

A record twelve 8th graders from BCMS were regional prizewinners for the 2009 National French Contest.  Philip Groenwegen, Vicky Buehler, Gabrielle Casutto, and Maia Lauria earned among the top ten scores nationwide.  Also recognized for scoring in the top ten in the Hudson Valley region were Marianne Brown, Michael Grogan, Lauren Zemering, Lindsay Cheu, Margaret Carswell, Hannah Schaming, Andrew Napierski, and Megan Carswell.  Congratulations to all!


The National Coalition Building Institute awarded their Youth Leadership Certificates on May 28th at the Hudson Valley Community College. These certificates were for students who underwent training in leadership and diversity and have been actively working to make their Middle School a better place. Congratulations to: Cameron Duwe, Shelley Betor, Yan Krazanowski and Sam Stewart.



Please join us for the annual BCMS POPS Concert, our traditional close to the performing year, on Thursday, June 4 at 6:30 pm behind the cafeteria (in the event of rain, it will be moved indoors).


BCMS Global Coalition

The BCMS Global Coalition in collaboration with the Helping Hands Club will be holding its International Children’s Art Auction on June 11th at the Bethlehem Central Middle School Library Media Center, at 332 Kenwood Ave., Delmar, NY. All proceeds will be used to improve schools in Tanzania. The auction is from 7-9 PM with a preview starting at 6:30. The auction will include over 100 works of inspirational art by students and local artists from Costa Rica, Belize, Russia, India, Tanzania, the USA and more. Works include a signed original sketch of Barack Obama, by noted political cartoonist Hy Rosen, and original oil paintings by local teacher/artist Peter Ruggiero. Admission is $2.00 which includes refreshments and entertainment. Contact: Bill Reilly at


An Evening of Swing
A night of music and entertainment will be held Wednesday, June 10th at 7:00 p.m. in the BCMS Auditorium. Together with The Swing Docs - Albany's Premier Dance Band, a group of very talented Bethlehem Central Middle School students have been busy planning and rehearsing for An Evening of Swing. Tickets for the 2-1/2 hour show (with intermission) are just $5.00.  Tickets will be sold on Sunday, June 7th from 5-7 p.m. at the Middle School, or on show night from 5-6:45 p.m. Tickets can also be arranged through   All proceeds will benefit the BCMS Music Department.


As of June 5th, students will not be able to borrow money for lunches. Pre-paid is still in effect. Please send any outstanding monies in by June 12th. Any student funds remaining will be carried over to the 2009-2010 school year. The last day for lunches at the Middle School is June 18th. If you have any questions, please call 439-8885.

Moving? Transferring to another school? Please contact the Guidance Office. Parent/Guardian must complete and sign a BCMS Release Form in order to legally withdraw a student from our Middle School. If you have any questions, please call the Guidance Office at 439-7460.
