2018-19 NYS Testing Letter from Superintendent Jody Monroe

Filed in Archive by on September 23, 2019

Dear Parent(s) and/or Guardian(s):

Your child’s individual student reports for the New York State assessments in English language arts (ELA), math and science are now available in Aspen. These tests were administered in spring 2019 to students who were in grades 3-8 in 2018-19.

The individual student report (ISR) for each exam can be found in a student’s Documents folder. Instructions for accessing the folder can be found below. All test results are listed separately: math, ELA or science. Please note only students who were in grades 4 and 8 during the 2018-19 school year took the science assessment.

These reports indicate the score and performance level for the associated assessment. The report clearly explains the skills and level your child demonstrated while also providing suggestions about what steps you may take to further support your child’s progress both in school and on these assessments. Please take some time to review the reports. Should you have any questions, you may contact the building principal, assistant principal, or the classroom teacher. Additional information on the assessments may also be obtained at www.EngageNY.org.

Please be assured that we are aware of our responsibility to consistently seek improvement. As a district, and in our schools, we will be carefully analyzing our results and implementing instructional plans to meet the needs of all students. We strive for excellence and believe that a partnership with parents makes for a stronger education.

Thank you for your continued support and please contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Jody Monroe

Superintendent of Schools
