American Education Week parent visit info

Filed in Archive by on November 15, 2016

Dear Parents,

On behalf of the Bethlehem Central Middle School, we would like to invite you to visit your child’s classes during American Education Week. Our parent visitation days are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, November 16th, 17th.

The middle school is a special place that nurtures the growth and development of your child on a daily basis. It is our goal your visit will provide you with comfort and knowledge of our climate and curriculum. Having you in the building is exciting for everyone and in order for our teachers to maintain the focus of the students we ask you are familiar with the following requests:

  • Classroom visitations begin at 8:20 a.m., which is when first period begins, and concludes at 1:59 p.m., which is the end of period eight.  Due to bus dismissal, we are unable to have parents stay for ninth period.
  • Upon your arrival at school, please check in at the table in the main lobby to receive a visitor’s pass.
  • We ask that you download a copy of your child’s schedule from Aspen in preparation for your visit.
  • Because of limited space in our cafeteria, and because our cafeteria cannot prepare additional foods to supply the number of visiting adults, we would ask that parents please not attend or visit at lunch with their child.  There is simply not enough room to fit everyone comfortably and safely. We also would appreciate it if you not remove your child from their regular schedule for lunch as it disrupts their routine.
  • You may bring your own lunch and relax in the LMC (Library) during that time period.    We will be having a Book Fair in our LMC and we hope parents will spend time visiting our book displays!
  • Unfortunately we cannot accommodate siblings on this day due to limited space as well.
  • We would appreciate it if you turn off your cell phones and/or program them for vibrate and not use them in classes or when walking in the hallways. We try to model behaviors and expectations for our students and your support makes a difference.

IMPORTANT: Please note that parking is limited.  We will have some rows reserved for you in the front parking lot; however, additional parking may be needed.  If so, you are welcome to park in the bus arrival/departure area.  Parking in this area is limited to the hours between 8:20 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.   Please do not enter, exit or park in this area before 8:20 a.m. or after 2:00 p.m. as this will impede our bus transportation.  We greatly appreciate your cooperation with this for the safety of our students.

Should you have any questions regarding the visitation days, please do not hesitate to contact us.  Thank you for your continued support.  We look forward to seeing you!
