An important message about remote learning from Assistant Superintendent Dave Hurst

Dear BCSD Family:

As indicated in our school reopening plan, families can elect to have their students transition from remote learning to in-person instruction or from in-person (K-6) or hybrid (7-12) instruction to remote learning at the end of each quarter. Monday, November 16, 2020 will be the first opportunity for these transitions to occur and the deadline to submit a request to make a change is Friday, October 30.

Fully Remote to In-Person/Hybrid

Parents/guardians wishing for their child(ren) to return to our in-person/hybrid model on November 16, 2020 must complete an Intent to Return to In-Person/Hybrid Learning Form for each student by Friday, October 30, 2020.

Please keep in mind that when families chose for their students to attend school virtually, we adjusted the master schedules for teachers and students accordingly, allowing for social distancing in classrooms. As students transition back, elementary students may not be assigned to their home school and secondary students may have adjustments made to their schedules.

In-Person/Hybrid to Fully Remote

Parents/guardians wishing for their child(ren) to change to the virtual learning option on November 16, 2020 must complete a Remote Learning Waiver Form for each student by Friday, October 30, 2020. This change will be effective Monday, November, 16. Families of students who are already in remote learning, and plan to remain in remote learning, do not need to fill out this waiver

The next opportunity for students to transition will be on Monday, February 1, 2020.

Parents or guardians who have questions can email me directly at dhurst@bethlehemschools.org.

Sincerely,

Dave Hurst

Assistant Superintendent for Educational Programs & Instruction
