Ballot counting to begin at 5 p.m. on June 16

In accordance with the executive orders of the governor of the state of New York, on June 16, beginning at 5 p.m., the chief election inspector for the Bethlehem Central School District will supervise the tally of all absentee ballots submitted as part of the Annual Budget Vote and Board of Education Election. By order of the governor, there was no in-person voting this year due to the COVID-19 public health crisis.

The polls will close for all absentee ballots submitted by U.S. Mail on June 16 at 5 p.m. The polls closed for all absentee ballots submitted to the ballot boxes at the High School on June 9 at 5 p.m.

The vote tally will be broadcast live on YouTube, with the unofficial results of the tally to be announced when counting is complete. Official vote totals are expected to be announced as part of the June 17 Board of Education meeting that will be held on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. as part of a regular board meeting.
