For the fourth year in a row, the Bethlehem Central School District has been named the number one school district in the Capital Region by the Albany Business Review.

The district is featured in the local business publication’s annual Schools Report, which ranks 84 school districts in the 11-county greater Capital Region using data from the New York State Education Department for the 2018-19 school year. The announcement was made on Friday, June 5.

The Albany Business Review ranking takes into account graduation rates, the percentage of graduates who plan to attend college and the percentage of graduates with advanced Regents diplomas. Scores from the 2019 SATs were also used to determine high school rankings.

“The commitment and hard work of our students, teachers and families are reflected in this honor,” said Superintendent Monroe. “This ranking calculated their achievements in 2018-19 under the best of circumstances. If you add to that the strength, resilience, and sense of community they have all shown during the COVID-19 closure you get a better sense of the true value of a BC education.

“We have many reasons to be proud,” said Monroe.
