BCHS Class of 2020 Diploma Ceremonies

Filed in Archive, District, District News by on June 17, 2020

Bethlehem Central School District will host outdoor Diploma Ceremonies for the Class of 2020 on Friday, June 26 on the BCHS Campus. This plan became possible once New York State allowed outdoor, socially distanced graduation ceremonies of up to 150 people in attendance.

In order to maintain the safety of everyone involved, the school is planning to host 10 small ceremonies during the day with 30 graduates, and their parents/guardians, at each event. These events will each be 30 minutes and it is important that students and families follow the guidelines below so we can accommodate all students. There is also a brief video that you will want to watch so you know exactly how to enter and exit the school to attend your child’s ceremony and so we can maintain this schedule. Following this route is vitally important to the success of this event

To comply with the state’s graduation guidelines, we have limited the number of guests per graduate to two. If there are issues regarding tickets that you need to discuss, please contact Ms. Rhonda Bohl by email at

Stick to the schedule, follow the route, keep your cap on

Please review the June 26 guidelines and the Diploma Ceremony schedule below. Families will receive an email on Monday, June 22 letting them know what time their student is scheduled to receive their diploma. The district will also be livestreaming these events so friends, relatives and community members who are unable to attend the event in person can watch at home. The link will be shared with families ahead of the event.

The district has been consulting with the Albany County Health Department to ensure compliance with all current public health guidelines.

We will also be hosting a Virtual Celebration on Friday, June 26 at the Jericho Drive-In. The program to celebrate our seniors will begin at 9 p.m. and cars will be allowed in one hour ahead of time, at 8 p.m. The event will conclude with a fireworks display. Everyone in attendance must remain in their cars during the event to ensure proper social distancing. There is a limit of one car per family due to capacity at the drive-in.

Please review the following guidelines as they are very important to helping us have a successful send-off for the Class of 2020:
