Bethlehem Central School District junior Stacey Lee has been selected to represent the League of Women Voters of Albany County at the Students Inside Albany conference at the New York state capitol. The three-day intensive training held in May is designed to immerse students in learning about the inner workings of New York state government. More than 50 students from across the state, including Lee, will learn from state and local leaders about how policy is proposed and enacted and how students can influence and affect this process.

The students will attend workshops led by policymakers and will have the opportunity to observe Assembly and Senate sessions and to shadow both their Assembly members and state Senators.

Students who take part in the annual Students Inside Albany program are selected based in part on their civic involvement and community service. Lee is a student government leader at BC, serving as junior class president, and is a member of the BCHS Student Senate.

Congratulations to Stacey on this honor!
