BCHS to use School Messenger for automated attendance calls

Filed in BCHS by on February 20, 2019

Bethlehem Central High School will begin using School Messenger to send attendance notifications through automated voice messages.

When your child is absent from school and the absence has not been cleared, you will be called on your home and cell phones. These notifications will be sent at approximately 10:15 a.m. If you receive one of these notifications, please contact the BCHS attendance office during regular school hours to ensure they have correct information regarding your child’s absence.

This is what the voice message will say:

Hello, this is a message from the attendance office at Bethlehem Central High School, calling to inform you that your student <First Name> <Last Name> was absent today. Please contact the attendance office at (518) 439-7921 to clear the absence and send a signed note upon your student’s return to school. If you have already contacted the school office, you may disregard this message. If you would like to replay this message, please press the star key. Thank you.

Please check to be sure your home and cell phone information is listed properly in the Aspen Parent Portal: https://www.bethlehemschools.org/accessing-primary-contact-information-aspen/

If you see that this information is not correct in Aspen, you will need to update your contact information by emailing District Registrar Melissa Haas at mhaas@bethlehemschools.org. Please note that it may take a day or two before this information is updated in Aspen. School Messenger syncs with the Aspen Parent Portal on a daily basis so once Aspen is updated, it will take less than 24 hours for your number to be updated by School Messenger.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Principal Dave Doemel at ddoemel@bethlehemschools.org.
