The Bethlehem Central School District was notified Tuesday morning by the Albany County Department of Health that a member of the BCHS community has tested positive for COVID-19.

This individual is a student who has been in remote learning since the start of the school year and has not been in the school building. The health department has indicated there are no additional steps required for the district at this time regarding contact tracing.

This is the ninth confirmed case of COVID-19 in the high school community. The high school has been in remote learning since Oct. 26 following an uptick in COVID cases and a widespread quarantine of students and staff.

There have been no confirmed cases in any other BC schools. All schools, except the high school, remain open for in-person instruction. The high school is scheduled to resume in-person instruction on Monday, Nov. 9.
