Filed in BCHS, District, District News by on September 28, 2020

This is a follow-up to a message sent on Sunday, Sept. 27 regarding a confirmed case of COVID 19 at Bethlehem Central High School.

The Albany County Department of Health (ACDOH) has contacted all close contacts to the individual in the high school community who had tested positive and those close contacts have been instructed by ACDOH to complete a precautionary quarantine. The close contacts were identified after a full investigation was conducted by ACDOH with assistance from the school district. If you were not contacted directly by the health department, you are not considered a close contact.

At this time, the high school and the district will remain open for in-person instruction. All Bethlehem schools will be open on Tuesday, Sept. 29 as scheduled. For students in grades 7-12, please note that Tuesday is an “A” day.

Since the start of the school year, the district has been thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting all buildings on campus, in accordance with guidance from the New York State Department of Health and the CDC. Areas of the high school received additional cleaning and disinfecting on Monday, Sept. 28, while school was closed in observance of Yom Kippur.
