Attention all FBLA members: The State Leadership Conference (SLC) information is now posted on the FBLA Google Classroom.  Remember to sign up if you intend to participate in the SLC no later than Wednesday, March 3.  See Google Classroom or Ms. Farrell for details.  The SLC will be discussed at our next FBLA meeting on Wednesday, March 3.

March 1st marks the start of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. Today is International Wheelchair Day which celebrates the positive impact of wheelchairs on wheelchair user’s lives!  The celebration first began in 2008 and each year several events and activities take place around the world. The day also celebrates the work of those who provide wheelchairs and brings awareness to those that do not have access to them. Did you know that New York State has the 2nd highest percentage of homelessness in the United States?  Sadly, we have had a 47% increase in the homeless from 2007-2019. The pandemic has led to an increase in unemployment and with spring on its way, evictions will be on the rise. How can you help? Join Lab School in donating hygiene products to benefit the Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless.  A wish list of the most needed items to donate by grade can be found here: Wish list-Items-Hygiene Drive.  Please bring your donations to the  drop-boxes located in the Central Foyer and in the D-wing near the rear entrance.  The drive ends on Saturday, March 6th.

🌸 Today is the first day of the Lunar New Year holiday in several East and Southeast  Asian countries including China, Vietnam, and  South Korea. Many Americans of Asian descent celebrate this holiday as well.  We wish all who celebrate, a Happy New Year full of prosperity and joy in 2021! 🌸

Bethlehem schools will be closed the week of Monday, February 15th in observance of Presidents’ Day and for  February break. Monday, February 22nd will be an A-day. Enjoy your break!

Paper Pastries has extended their Valentine’s Day Card Sale. Students can still place orders on MySchoolBucks.com through tomorrow, Friday, February 12.  All Cards cost two dollars and can be picked up at the front desk.

The Lab School Book Club will hold their next meeting this evening, Thursday, February 11th at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the book The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas.  All are welcome to attend. The club will be focusing on all of Part I of the novel. Please contact Mrs. Maset or Mr. Rickert for more information.

The finalists qualify to compete again at the FBLA State Leadership Conference in April.  Congratulations to all participants!!

Stage 700 is pleased to announce our spring musical production, The Theory Of Relativity.  Auditions will be via video submission and are due Sunday, February 7th which is just a few days away.  For more information, stop by room G-100 at the front of the school where details are posted on the door. Starting today,  Monday, February 1st, all meal options will be available in the cafeteria only. However, meals will still be provided via pre-order for students without lunch periods and pick-up for those items will remain during 6th period only at the BC Commons location. To place your order, email Food Services Technician, Manon Desjardins or call the BCHS Kitchen at 518-439-8885 (Orders must be placed on the same day of pick-up by 10:30 a.m.). Theatre Without a Net is proud to announce that Life After by Amy Roos will be performed virtually later this fall. Life After is a new comedy about one man’s journey of self-discovery through Hell. Through dating therapy, the man will attempt to remember who he was on Earth and how he came to be in the underworld. Along the way, he meets a cast of misfit characters all on a quest for love in this fiery inferno with terrible scones and burnt coffee.
