BCMS PTO to host drug abuse prevention talk

flyer with textOn Monday, March 2 at 7 p.m., the Bethlehem Central Middle School PTO will host a presentation for parents on drug abuse prevention and gateway drug trends among teens.

First Sgt. Tracy Mance, of the Albany County Sheriff’s Department and Albany County STOP-DWI program, will be accompanied by BCMS School Resource Officer Det. Adam Cobb to discuss alcohol, marijuana and vaping trends and provide a question-and-answer session. Mance is the facilitator of the Choices Program that district eighth-grade students attend. Choices provides students with information about alcohol abuse and drunk driving, drug abuse, distracted driving, seat belt use and speeding. 

The presentation is FREE and open to all BCMS or BCHS parents, guardians, school faculty and staff. It will take place as part of the regular BCMS PTO meeting. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the BCMS auditorium.
