BCSD construction updates for June 2023

In October 2021, residents of the Bethlehem Central School District approved a Facilities Improvement Capital Project that includes approximately $40.7 million in priority projects across the district.

Work at various locations is now underway. Updates will be provided here throughout the course of the project.

Project updates by location (June 2023)

BCHS

• Ongoing: Grading and drainage work is in process at the turf stadium site
• Ongoing: Installation of wiring and new security cameras
• Thursday, June 15: Softball field work is expected to begin with the demolition of the dugouts in preparation for new dugouts and bleacher pads

BCMS

• Ongoing: Installation of wiring and new security cameras
• Week of June 12: Deliveries of materials for the new drainage structure are expected

Eagle Elementary School

• Week of June 12: Deliveries of materials for the new drainage structure are expected

Glenmont Elementary School

• Ongoing: Work on the outdoor shade structure/classroom foundation has begun
• Week of June 12: Deliveries of materials for the new drainage structure are expected
• Week of June 12: Drainage work on the back field will begin
• Tuesday, June 13: Signage will be in place regarding summer asbestos abatement. No work will begin until after the school year ends for students, however, the signage is required to be posted in advance.

Hamagrael Elementary School

• Ongoing: Work on the outdoor shade structure/classroom foundation has begun
• Ongoing: Roof work (entire roof is to be replaced)
• Week of June 12: Replacement of heating boiler plant
• Week of June 12: The construction road to the new pavilion site will be expanded.
• Tuesday, June 13: Signage will be in place regarding summer asbestos abatement. No work will begin until after the school year ends, however, the signage is required to be posted in advance.

Slingerlands Elementary School

• Ongoing: Work on the outdoor shade structure/classroom foundation has begun
• Week of June 12: Installation of construction material laydown area fencing and work site protection
