Bethlehem named a top district

The Bethlehem Central School District has once again been named one of the top 5 school districts for academics in Upstate New York. For the third year in a row, the district is ranked fifth out of 431 districts rated annually by business publication Buffalo Business First. The annual list, released this week, was compiled using the latest four years of student test results and graduation data.

Since the Buffalo-based publication began rating upstate school districts in 2011, Bethlehem has improved its ranking from number 12 on the list to number five. This year marks the eighth year in a row the district has been ranked in the top 10.

The Upstate Top 10 School Districts, according to Buffalo Business First:

  1. Pittsford (Rochester area, Monroe County)
  2. Fayetteville-Manlius (Syracuse area, Onondaga County)
  3. Honeoye Falls-Lima (Rochester area, Monroe County)
  4. Cazenovia (Syracuse area, Madison County)
  5. Bethlehem (Albany area, Albany County)
  6. Skaneateles (Syracuse area, Onondaga County)
  7. Brighton (Rochester area, Monroe County)
  8. Penfield (Rochester area, Monroe County)
  9. East Aurora (Buffalo area, Erie County)
  10. Williamsville (Buffalo area, Erie County)
