The Bethlehem Central School District has once again been named one of the top 10 school districts for academics in Upstate New York. For the second year in a row, the district is ranked fifth out of 431 districts ranked annually by business publication Buffalo Business First. The annual list, released earlier this month, was compiled using the latest four years of student test results and graduation data.

Bethlehem ranked first among the 83 Albany-area school districts the publication reviewed.

“We are pleased to be recognized as a top-tier school district,” said Superintendent Jody Monroe. “As superintendent, I am particularly proud of the quality of work our BC faculty and staff bring to our schools every day. They are exceptional in their commitment to helping all students reach their potential and achieve academic success.”

Since the Buffalo-based publication began rating upstate school districts in 2011, Bethlehem has improved its ranking from number 12 on the list to its to number five. This year marks the seventh year in a row the district has been ranked in the top 10.
