Board honors top fall athletes; teams achieve scholar-athlete status

On Wednesday, December 5, student athletes who competed in fall sports and had qualified for state-level competition were honored by the Bethlehem Central Board of Education. These athletes and the following fall athletic programs also received Scholar-Athlete status from New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA): boys soccer, girls soccer, field hockey, girls tennis, boys cross country, girls cross country, football, girls volleyball, boys volleyball, girls swim & dive and boys golf.

Girls’ Varsity Tennis

  • Zoe Davis – State Qualifier (Doubles team)
  • „Letti Donovan – State Qualifier (Doubles team)

Boys’ Cross Country

  • Matt Cavaliere – State Qualifier

  • Sydney Sorbello – Section 2 Champion (200 IM, 100 Relay, 200 Freestyle Relay)
  • Anna Bernasconi – Section 2 Champion (200 FR)
  • Audrey Nadeau – Section 2 Champion (200 FR) *2018 NYSPHSAA Sportsmanship Award
  • Maggie Hartman – Section 2 Champion (200 FR)
  • Anna Bernasconi – State Qualifier (100 BR, 200 IM relay, 400 FR relay, 200 FR relay)
  • Sydney Sorbello – State Qualifier (50 free, 100 bk, 200 FR relay, 200 IM relay)
  • Ella Kaback – State Qualifier (200 IM Relay)
