Bond vote to include Eagle’s Playground Project

Filed in Archive by on September 30, 2016

An important message from the Eagle PTO

“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning.  But for children, play is serious learning.  Play is really the work of childhood.”  Mr. Fred Rogers

The goal of the Eagle’s Playground Project is to purchase additional equipment to add to the existing structures which will provide diverse and age appropriate options for all of our students.

The District is expected to hold a bond vote on November 29 which, if approved by voters, would include an allocation of $104,000 for Eagle’s playground. Please learn more about the bond project and share this information with your Bethlehem neighbors. Please don’t forget to vote on November 29!

Our goal is to raise an additional $60,000 in order to give our school the best equipment…construction is anticipated to begin in Spring 2019.

The goal of the Playground Project is to purchase additional equipment to add to the existing structures which will provide diverse and age appropriate options for all of our students.  The playground we have today was not originally designed for our youngest students.  Also, we need to give our older students equipment that will not only challenge them physically, but mentally.  Eagle Elementary is the site for the entire district’s summer school program and the playground is not accessible to those with special needs.  The playground footprint does not have enough equipment to support our current and future student population.

The Playground Committee will be hosting several fundraising events over the course of the next two years, please check your child’s folders, Eagle website and the PTO Facebook page for more details. Our hope is that you will help in any way you can and if you are interested joining the Playground committee or have other fundraising ideas please contact Ray Kimmelblatt, rkimmelblatt@jdrf.org.
