Construction at the High School LMC

Work at the High School Library Media Center (LMC), which was first constructed in 1967 and expanded in 1996, encompasses a complete renovation of the library, teaching, and support spaces, creating a more flexible and modern learning environment. Improvements to the space include diverse teaching and study spaces, a central hub seating area, a Makerspace and an innovative classroom. The Information Technology Helpdesk will be relocated off the corridor and new gathering areas will be added to liven the main corridor, extending the LMC’s influence outside its walls.

Update Feb. 2020: The new BCHS Library Media Center is open to students. Check out this video tour of the new library on the district’s Facebook page.

Update Jan. 2020: Construction is expected to be completed by Jan. 15. Furniture and equipment will be installed shortly after that and the library will need to be restocked before it reopens for students in early February. A new Student Help Desk area is also part of the construction and will be more accessible to students with an entrance just off the main foyer.
