Despite the long-term school closure due to the COVID-19 public health emergency, work on the $32 million capital improvement project continues across the district. Essential construction workers have been allowed to continue to work on these projects by following strict safety precautions and social distancing guidelines.

Some projects have experienced delays due to materials not being readily available or limits on the number of workers that can be in a particular area. Others, however, are moving ahead of schedule while students and staff are not in the buildings.

The most significant work is taking place at the high school. In early 2020, a fully renovated library opened to students. Renovation of the school’s auditorium is the largest capital improvement project. Construction work continues on the auditorium.

For safety purposes, all interior work areas at the high school and throughout the district have separate and defined access between the work areas and the exterior of the buildings.
