CSE meetings moving to online format as of Mar. 23

A message from Special Education and Student Services (SESS) Director Kathy Johnston:

Dear CSE families,

As of Monday, March 23, 2020, we will be attempting to hold CSE/AR meetings in a new online format. We plan to follow the schedule that was set up before our closure on March 9.

We have been in regular contact with the New York State Education Department (NYSED) and our colleagues in neighboring districts and feel it is in everyone’s best interest to try and continue with these meetings. We feel that if we can get these done now, instructional staff will be able to be in the classroom when students return and not at meetings.

What will this look like? We will be meeting virtually. Staff and families will not come to school. Instead, they will participate remotely using Google Meet. You will receive an invite to join a Google Meet. If you cannot connect this way the CSE Chair will teleconference you in. Our CSE chairs, teachers, therapists, and secretaries are all working from home, so we may need to be creative, but we believe we can do this.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation. I hope the resources our staff is sharing have been helpful.

Please stay well and let me know if I can be of any assistance.

All my best,
