Dec. 22: Two positive COVID cases

The Bethlehem Central School District learned today, Tuesday, Dec. 22, that two individuals in the school district community have tested positive for COVID-19: one at the middle school and one at the high school. More information can be found below:

Bethlehem Central Middle School: 

  • A student at the middle school has tested positive. There was no exposure at school related to this case. The individual who tested positive has not been at the school since December 10. This person is currently in isolation and will not return to school until cleared by the Albany County Department of Health.

    Bethlehem Central High School: 

    • A staff member at the high school has tested positive. There was no exposure at school related to this case. The individual who tested positive was last at the school on December 18. This person is currently in isolation and will not return to work until cleared by the local health department.

      Please continue to follow these safety protocols, even while schools are remote: 

      • Always wear a mask that covers both the mouth and nose when you are out of your home or if someone from outside your household visits your home.
      • Wash hands with soap and water frequently when out of your home. If you cannot use soap and water, use alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
      • Don’t touch the eyes, nose or mouth unless your hands are clean.
      • Contact your medical provider if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms: fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, congestion or runny nose.
