Eagle participates in “Litterless Lunch Challenge, Apr. 16-20

Filed in Eagle by on April 13, 2018

The mission of the BCSD Green Team is to help staff, students, and our community look at the choices we make each day and see how those choices affect our planet and environment.  Earth Day presents a great opportunity to do this! During the week of April 16-20 we will participate in the “Litterless Lunch Challenge”

Litterless Lunch Week Rules

Each day during Earth Week students that bring in a lunch with no garbage will get a Green Team ticket that confirms that they had a “Litterless Lunch”.  Students fill out the ticket with their name and lunch period which is then entered into a prize drawing at the end of the week.  Prizes will be $ 2.50 gift certificates for the Delmar Farmers Market.

Examples of what would be considered a litterless lunch:

  •         Reusable lunch bag/box
  •         Reusable food containers
  •         Reusable cloth napkin
  •         Reusable drink container
  •         Reusable flatware

A litterless lunch does not include recyclable items. Buying lunch-  re-usable cloth napkin counts toward a ticket.

The Bethlehem Central School District Green Team encourages all staff and students to help our planet this Earth Week and bring in a litterless lunch!
