On Friday, May 31, elite runner Carmen Troncoso visited Hamagrael students ahead of the 41st annual Freihofer’s Run for Women. Troncoso, who will compete in the Masters (over 40) division of the 5k race, took time to share stories about how running has enhanced her life.

Troncoso traveled to Albany from her home in Austin, Texas to take part in the celebrated road race. She is one of several elite runners who visit area schools to talk about health, fitness and the sport of running.

In her conversation with the Hamagrael students Troncoso said that the sport had allowed her to travel the world, and most importantly strive to reach her personal goals. The students had several questions for Troncoso and she received a special card of encouragement from third-grader Corinne Talmage.

We thank runner Carmen Troncoso for sharing her time and insight with our students and wish her the best in the June 1 Freihofer’s Run.
