Students from the BCHS Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) held their Fall District Meeting on Friday, October 11 to discuss preparation for the NYS FBLA Spring Leadership Conference next April. During the conference, students attend leadership workshops and compete in events that test business, leadership and technology skills, as well as decision-making.

The events are intended to prepare students for successful careers by providing opportunities to apply classroom concepts in a workforce-simulated environment. Some of the competitive events for 2019-20 include writing a business plan, mobile app development, impromptu speaking, and organizational leadership. The NYS FBLA Spring Conference will be held April 1-3, 2020, in Rochester.

FBLA is the largest career-related student organization in the world. Its focus is on leadership development, academic competition, and community service.

For high school students who are interested in participating in FBLA, the group meets every Wednesday at 2:15 in Room C-106.
