Fifth Grade Moving Up Ceremony

Filed in Glenmont by on June 17, 2020

A special message from Principal Laura Heffernan to fifth-grade students, members of the Glenmont Class of 2020:

Today is your last day as a Glenmont School student!

We hope you enjoy this special Moving Up video created just for you. Then stroll down memory lane with this 5th Grade Slideshow created by parent Nancy Cooney from all of the photos submitted by parents.  Thank you, Nancy, for putting this together for us!

We are so proud of you, fifth graders.  Celebrate your accomplishment!

We hope to see you later today (see below).  If you can’t make it, we will hold your bag of goodies for you here at school, so just call the Main Office (518-463-1154) to pick it up at a later date.

Be well,

Drive By Glenmont School One Last Time on Wednesday, June 17!
In addition, we would like to give the 5th graders a chance to visit Glenmont School one last time (albeit only in the parking lot) as they pick up their class t-shirts, yearbooks, and more. On Wed, June 17, we invite each family to drive through the Glenmont parking lot to pick up the items curbside in front of the school.  This will also be an opportunity to drop off your child’s Chromebook, library books, classroom library books, instruments, and anything else you need to return so you don’t have to come back a second day for the regular drop-off. We’ll be playing music and have some helium balloons around to make it feel festive, and several staff will be present to wave good-bye to our fifth graders on their final day of elementary school. Only one person may step out of the car, but hopefully even this brief drive-by will be a meaningful way for your child to say good-bye. Here are the times to help stagger everyone’s visit, but if you can’t make it to your time, you are welcome to come to the other.

    • 2:00-3:00 Last names A-L
    • 3:00-4:00 Last names M-Z

*There was a printing error on the special fifth grade gift from the PTA, so that will be arriving at a later date.  In its place, the printing company sent a mask for each student.  We will contact you about arrangements for picking up the other gift when it is available.  Thank you!
