First day of school at Elsmere
Students returned to Bethlehem schools and classrooms on Thursday, September 7 as the 2017-18 school year began. From beginning to end, we spotted many smiling faces, special outfits, and lots of books and supplies and a healthy dose of school spirit. We watched as some students navigated their new surroundings with the help of staff and saw friends reconnect and new relationships being forged. Buses, classrooms and hallways were buzzing as teachers, administrators and staff welcomed students kindergarten through grade 12 and provided a smooth transition to the new school year at the district’s seven schools.

For the fourth year in a row, the district tapped into its social media channels to encourage families to share their “first day” photos via Twitter and Facebook. Using the hashtag #bcsdbacktoschool, many families and some of our school staff posted an array of photos to the district’s social media accounts, helping to bring our schools and community together.
