Girls’ Night Out 2018 was très magnifique

Filed in BCHS, Student Spotlight by on March 12, 2018

On Friday evening March 9, from 6 to 9 p.m., Bethlehem High School girls were busy discovering how much fun a “Girls’ Night Out” can be. The event, now in its sixth year, has evolved from a desire to introduce a healthier life style to high school students to become a much-anticipated winter event that helps boost self-image, confidence and self-esteem in BC students.

With the theme of “A Night in Paris,” this year’s Girls’ Night Out, or GNO, included several activities in the areas of health, fitness and self-confidence that generated a sense of camaraderie among students and volunteer staff. The students were introduced to ZUMBA by BCHS parents Maria Derian and Michelle Moloney, painting with BCHS Art Supervisor Melanie Painter, yoga with Julie Stanco, a lesson in making a nutritional snack with BCHS teacher Maria Hayes, and mindfulness tips from Kara Kowalski, BCHS School Assistance Counselor.

The evening focused on giving the girls a glimpse into some positive habits used to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The school’s academic departments, faculty, staff and Bethlehem community also donated amazing, generous gift baskets for the event!

Thank you to those who donated door prizes and gift certificates and to Kelly Ciavardoni for organizing all of them!

Also, a big thank you to our outstanding volunteers for the evening: Kelly Ciavardoni, Melanie Painter, Maria Hayes, Kelly Babic, Lynn Sherich, Sonya Christopher, Marielle Martin, Kaaren Caron, Giovanna Prezio, Erynn Barber, Caitlin Young, Marisa Bel, Terri Biszick, Maria Patti, Kara Kowalski, Kate Hahn, Danielle Blanchard, Sara Herrero, Vanessa Treffert and Jen Gonyea!

Thanks to everyone who made the evening très magnifique!
