Students inspecting a Selkirk fire and rescue truck

Volunteer Fire Fighters from the Selkirk Fire Department came to Glenmont Elementary today to talk about fire safety.  This annual presentation for our students teaches them the importance of having smoke detectors, changing the batteries in them, having a fire evacuation plan, knowing to dial 911 in an emergency, etc.  The students also had a chance to see the fire and rescue trucks parked in front of the school.  The children will be bringing home packets from the fire department, so please take a moment to review this important information with your child.  We are grateful to the Selkirk Fire Department for volunteering their time to come and work with our students.  Thank you, Fire Fighter VanApeldoorn and the entire crew!
