Filed in District News, Glenmont by on July 3, 2019

Glenmont Elementary School has been named one of the 2018-19 Recognition Schools by New York state and received a certificate of recognition from the Commissioner.

The school was named among 280 high achieving and high progress schools in Upstate New York and 562 schools across the state. According to New York state, the 2018-19 Recognition Schools have high academic achievement, student growth and graduation rate, and made progress during the 2017-18 school year.

To identify the Recognition Schools, the state takes into account the school’s student growth and/or graduation rate; meeting or exceeding either the school or state measures of interim progress for English language arts and mathematics, rate of Chronic Absenteeism, and College, Career, and Civic Readiness; and meeting the federally required 95 percent participation rate in the English language arts and mathematics assessments.

We are proud of all of the hard work our students, staff, and families did to earn this distinction,” said Glenmont Principal Laura Heffernan.
