Filed in Archive by on June 23, 2019

The BCHS Hall of Fame Nomination Committee uses the following criteria in evaluating individuals nominated to the Hall of Fame during the selection process. Annual nominations are due by May 1 and Hall of Fame inductees are typically announced in early fall as part of Homecoming Week.

Graduation Requirement

The nominee must be a graduate of Bethlehem High School. The nominee must have graduated at least ten years ago.

Educational Accomplishments: (5 points)

One point will be awarded per degree the nominee has earned (Associates, Bachelors, Masters, Doctorate, etc.). A maximum of five points can be earned in this category

Career Accomplishments: (20 points)

Nominees will be evaluated on a scale of 1 – 10 in this category. One being the lowest and ten being the highest. Each member of the committee will rate each nominee and then an average will be taken of all committee members’ scores and this score will be assigned to this area. Due to the importance of this area in choosing who shall be inducted, the points earned in this area will be multiplied by two.

Charitable/Community Involvement: (10 points)

Nominees will be evaluated on a scale of 1 – 10 in this category. One being the lowest and ten being the highest. Each member of the committee will rate each nominee and then an average will be taken of all committee members’ scores and this score will be assigned to this area. This category will not be multiplied.

Achievements: (20 points)

This category will include awards, honors, prizes, publications, and volunteer work of the nominee.

Point Tally: (55 points total)

Each nominee can earn a maximum of 55 points. This point tally will be used to begin the discussion among committee members as to who should be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

The points themselves do not immediately guarantee induction.

Number of Inductees

More than one person can be inducted each year depending on the committee’s decision. If a nominee is not selected for induction, his/her nomination will be good for three years and will be revisited in each of those three years by the committee. Updates can be made to this nomination as the nominee continues to succeed in his/her career.
