Law enforcement training at Glenmont, BCHS

Filed in Archive, BCHS by on August 5, 2019

If you see police vehicles at Glenmont Elementary School on Wednesday, August 7 and at the high school on August 7-8, don’t be alarmed. The schools are being used by state and local police agencies for routine training exercises. Police agencies often use our school buildings during the summer to host regular safety and emergency response training for their officers.

PLEASE NOTE: Glenmont School will be closed to staff on Wednesday as the New York State Police’s Special Operations Response Team (SORT) hosts a training at the school. Deliveries and visitors to Glenmont will still be able to access the main entrance, lobby and main office. The Aug. 7 Glenmont training was just added this week after a July 30 training had been postponed. The State Police will be at the schools from approximately 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

At the high school, the Bethlehem Police Department will conduct a similar training that will take place over two days, Wednesday-Thursday, Aug. 7-8. Only the E wing will be off-limits on Wednesday, August 7 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Thursday, August 8 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
