There was a Jungle Jamboree at Glenmont School on Friday, June 16!

Usually rain would put an end to Field Day activities, but not at Glenmont School.

Instead, the hallways and rooms in the school were transformed into a jungle, complete with plants hanging from the gym ceiling to a giant orange monkey just outside the back door.

Students collected “insects” from a wading pool on scooters, flung yarn balls from a giant slingshot at a hoop or a tiger, played music chairs, and put spider tattoos on their arms.

They even got to throw water balloons at the monkey – or Mrs. Marino and Mr. Clancy, who got super wet!

Thank you to the PTA for the watermelon and lemonade at lunch.  Special thanks to Mrs. Nolan, Ms. Crawford, Mrs. Quirk, Ms. Keese, and Mr. Tromp for their work coordinating the whole day.

Finally, to all of our many, many volunteers – we couldn’t have done it without you! You made our Jungle Jamboree a complete success.
