Justin T. Brown Student Helpdesk has a new home

Bethlehem High School students and staff who need assistance with their devices or have questions about technology won’t have to look far, now that the school’s Student Helpdesk has moved to its new home just off the school’s main foyer. Set inside a sleek glass-enclosed workspace reminiscent of an Apple store, student interns can be found troubleshooting Chromebooks, installing software and setting up passwords for staff and other students in the newly-constructed space adjacent to the soon-to-reopen renovated Library Media Center.

The new Justin T. Brown Information Technology HelpDesk

The Justin T. Brown Information Technology Helpdesk is now open as part of our newly remodeled Library Media Center.

The new tech space is known formally as the Justin T. Brown Information Technology Helpdesk, honoring the late Justin Brown, a former BC technology staff member who was a co-founder of the successful and innovative BCHS Student Helpdesk. The Helpdesk was renamed in 2018 to honor Brown’s contribution to the school and to the district. A 10-year employee of BCSD, Brown passed away unexpectedly in September 2018 at the age of 32.

“The district held a memorial service in the fall of 2018 to celebrate Justin’s life and his impact on BC. At that time, there was not a dry eye in the room when we announced the Student Helpdesk would be renamed in his honor,” said Superintendent Jody Monroe. “More than a year later, the Justin T. Brown Information Technology Helpdesk now has a new permanent home, one that we hope he would be proud of.”

The new Helpdesk and renovated LMC are part of the $32 million capital improvement project approved by voters in 2016.
