Letter from Principal Bonacquist, Dec. 18

Filed in Slingerlands by on December 18, 2020

Dear Families,

Happy Friday! As you have heard, most of our district students will attend school remotely next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. BC schools are planning to return to in-person instruction on January 4. We understand that instruction next week will be unusual for many children and that it is just 3-days and before a vacation, so we aren’t expecting perfection.

A few notes to help these days be enjoyable and meaningful:

  • Attendance is expected each day.
  • School hours will be roughly the same as during in-person learning
  • Teachers will send home schedules with links for students to follow for these three days. Students will practice logging in and navigating technology today, but your help with this may be necessary depending on your child’s age.
  • Please note the protocols which make remote instruction work best.

  • All students will bring their device (ipad or chromebook) home today. Please charge these devices so your child will be ready to join class on Monday morning.
  • If your child was not in school today, please call the office to arrange to pick up materials.
  • Students will bring necessary supplies home today in their backpacks.

Caring and Sharing Program

THANK YOU so much for your generosity!  We collected 75 gift cards and 35 boxes of food.  We will be distributing these to Bethlehem families tomorrow morning.

The staff is teaching from their classrooms here at Slingerland next week.  The office is open Monday – Wednesday 8:30-4:30.  If you need anything, please contact us.

Have a great weekend!
